A community is a group of people living in one particular area. Some roles and responsibilities are: Chefs, teachers, doctors, nurses, cities (etc).
Hurricane Sandy!
Hurricane Sandy is being felt across hundreds of kilometres of the east coast of the United States. While its status has changed, to a post-tropical storm, the impact appears to be every bit as bad as authorities had been warning. Already there are reports of at least five deaths in the New York area, with wild winds knocking over trees and power lines.
Sandy had laid waste to large parts of the coast throughout the day, leaving more than two million without power in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island and Virginia while whole cities have been flooded and billions of dollars of damage expected.The storm strengthened overnight to nearly 1,000 miles wide with winds in excess of 90 miles per hour as it accelerated north at a speed of 28mph. Its pressure has also dropped to record lows, which meant the storm was strengthening further. Hurricane Sandy killed at least 33 people in the US, knocked out power to more than 7.2 million people — 2.4 million of them in New Jersey alone.
If your near the United States of America, You should evacuate immediately. Hurricane Sandy will be on its way, but is getting better and is dying out.
Response Text!
A response text is a piece of writing that responds to an artistic work such as an athletic performance, a book, film, play, dance or musical item.
Structure: The three parts of a response are:
An opening statement that identifies the work and may include a preview of the writer’s response
A series of paragraphs which describe different elements or features of the work. It uses to express value judgement, cause and effect, and a high degree of modality.
Powerful descriptive words – intense, brilliant, legendary, inspiring Present tense – is, are, begins, feels.

An information text is a text that has information. It uses alot of descriptive words. There are alot of adjectives to describe the topic. The stages are: Introduction, Description and conclusion.

INDIA’S NEW SPACECRAFT!!
NEW DELHI — India on Tuesday launched its first spacecraft bound for Mars, a complex mission that it hopes will demonstrate and advance technologies for space travel. Hundreds of people watched the rocket carrying the Mars orbiter take off from the east-coast island of Sri Harikota and streak across the sky. Many more across the country watched live TV broadcasts. If the mission is successful, India will become only the fourth space program to visit the red planet after the Soviet Union, the United States and Europe.
The 1,350-kilogram orbiter Mangalyaan, which means “Mars craft” in Hindi, must travel 780 million kilometres over 300 days to reach an orbit around the red planet next September. The orbiter will gather images and data that will help in determining how weather systems work and what happened to the large quantities of water that are believed to have once existed on Mars. It also will search Mars for METHANE, a key chemical in life processes.
The orbiter is expected to have at least six months to investigate the planet’s landscape and atmosphere. At its closest point, it will be 365 kilometres from the planet’s surface, and its furthest point will be 80,000 kilometres away.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF TEXTS
Narrative is a text that is used to express your opinion. It is piece of writing that is not true; a made up story.
Persuasive is a text used to argue. It has n introduction, three main arguments in the form of three paragraphs and a conclusion.
Information is a text used to give the reader information. This type of writing can also be called a documentary.
Explanation is a piece of writing used to explain something step by step.
Recount is a summary of something that is real/happened.
Diary Entry is an entry of something, e.g. My first day at War.
